Certifications in Inquisiq are a bundle of learning activities that a user can be tied to. Users can be awarded certifications for the successful completion of a series of courses and tasks within the assigned certification track.
The Initial and Renewal tabs within a certification are used to set the requirements for the certification. Each certification must contain one or more units, with each unit containing one or more segments. Each
segment can have one or more requirements, each relating to the completion of specific course(s),
the collection of a certain number of credits or the completion of an external task. When adding
several segments to a unit or several units to a certification, you have the option of choosing
whether all parts or only one part must be completed by clicking the “AND” or “OR” buttons,
respectively. The Initial requirements for a certification can be used for the Renewal requirements
when the “Use Initial Requirements” in the Renewal tab is checked. Otherwise, different
requirements can be set in the same way the Initial requirements were set.
The user's award and expiration dates will adjust as they move throughout the certification initial and renewal tracks. Please see a sample below of a user who is joined to a certification track with a 1 day expiration and renewal window:

2. User satisfies Initial requirements
a. Certification Track: Initial
b. Status: Completed

3. User is moved to “Renewal” track
a. Certification Track: Renewal
b. Status: Incomplete / In Progress
c. Initial Award: 2/18
d. Last Expiration: 2/19
e. Current Expiration: 2/20
4. User satisfies Renewal requirements
a. Certification Track: Renewal
b. Status: Complete
c. Initial Award: 2/18
d. Last Expiration: 2/20
e. Current Expiration: 2/21
5. User is moved to “Renewal” track
a. Certification Track: Renewal
b. Status: Incomplete / In Progress
c. Initial Award: 2/18
d. Last Expiration: 2/21
e. Current Expiration: 2/22
6. Keep repeating steps 4 & 5
