From the administrator menu, click Interface and Layout, then click “Masthead.” The Home Page tab controls the look of your masthead on the Home Page of your LMS. The Application tab controls the look of your masthead on every other page of your LMS.
The intent of having a separate look and feel of the masthead for the Home page as opposed to other pages in the LMS is so that you can make your logo as large as you wish on your home page, and on other pages of the LMS, the branding can be more subtle and out of the way to keep focus on the content of the pages.
Home Page Tab
The Logo Image is the image that will appear in the top left corner of your Home Page screen. This image can be as large or as small as you wish. The masthead will dynamically grow and shrink to fit the size of the image, and the menu options within the masthead will move out of the image’s way as needed. The image height is almost limitless, and the width is only limited by the width of the page. The left side of the image will get cut off when the image gets any larger than 1300 px wide.
The Background can either be a color that you select, or an image that you upload, to fill the masthead on your Home Page. How much of the background image that you see in the masthead will depend largely on how large the Logo Image is – if the logo image stretches the masthead tall enough, you will see more of the background image. If the background image is not as wide as or wider than the page width/masthead width, the image will repeat from left to right within the masthead.
The Secondary Image is the image that will appear in the top right corner of your Home Page screen. This image is almost exactly like the Logo Image: it can be as large or small as you wish, the masthead will dynamically grow and shrink to fit its size, the image height is almost limitless, and the width is only limited by the width of the page (except the RIGHT side of the image will be cut off if larger than 1300 px wide). Note that the menu options will not move out of the image’s way – the secondary image will appear below all menu options in the masthead.
Application Tab
The Icon Image is a small image that will appear in the top left corner on every page of the LMS (except for the Home Page). No matter how large the image is, and no matter the image’s dimensions, the Icon image will always be cropped to be square if it is not already, and it will always be 22 x 22 px.
The Logo Image is the image that will appear in the top left corner on every page of the LMS, just right of the Icon Image (if you upload one – you do not have to upload an Icon Image). The application logo may be no wider than 200 px, and no taller than 80px; the image will be cropped to this size if it is any larger. If choose to upload an Icon Image, the logo image is best suited at about 75 x 30 px, so that the logo will align properly with the icon image.
The Background is the color that will fill your masthead on every page of the LMS (except for the Home Page).
